for outdoor adventures

The SUNBEAMsystem Smart Power Station is a versatile and multifunctional high-capacity power bank available in two sizes: 150Wh and 300Wh. Both models are designed with a rugged exterior for a secure grip and durability against small impacts.

The 150Wh version provides approximately 40–50% of the storage capacity of a standard car battery, while the larger300Wh version offers nearly double that capacity, ideal for extended usage or powering larger devices. Despite their power, both models remain compact and lightweight—far more portable than traditional alternatives.

With a water-resistance rating of IPX4 splashproof (or IP64 with ports closed) and a built-in LED lantern, the Smart Power Station is well-suited for active outdoor lifestyles such as camping, boating, or remote work.

Both models can operate an electric portable cooler for up to 24 hours in eco mode, or 3–6 hours on full power, depending on the connected load. You can also plug directly into a solar panel—thanks to the built-in MPPTcontroller, solar input is automatically optimized for maximum efficiency. The power station can recharge itself from solar while simultaneously powering devices via the Cig-12V and USB outputs (1+2).

Airline Carry-On Approved

On most intra-European flights, lithium power banks up to 100 Wh are normally allowed in cabin baggage without any special approval. Larger batteries between 100 and 150 Wh are often still allowed, but you usually need to notify the airline in advance and they must never be checked in. Always confirm the latest rules with your specific airline before travelling.

Most European airlines follow the international (IATA) rules for lithium-ion batteries. In practice this means that small power banks up to 100 Wh are normally allowed in cabin baggage without any special approval, while larger ones from 100 Wh up to about 150–160 Wh are usually allowed only if you have the airline’s approval in advance. They must always travel in your carry-on, never checked luggage. iata.org+1

Keep in mind that modern LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries are generally a much safer chemistry than classic lithium-ion cells (like those in most mobile phones). However, current aviation rules do not distinguish between these chemistries and treat all rechargeable lithium batteries in the same way, so the same Wh limits apply regardless of battery type.

So for intra-European flights, a 150 Wh power bank is typically within the “upper” allowed range, but it falls into the “100–160 Wh, operator approval required” category rather than the “no-questions-asked” 0–100 Wh range. Exactly how you request approval (or whether they treat some cases as “automatically approved”) depends on the airline, so you should always double-check with your carrier before you fly.

At the time of writing (November 2025), the following European airlines state on their own websites that they follow this 100–160 Wh rule in some form (wording varies, but the pattern is the same: ≤100 Wh = allowed; 100–160 Wh = allowed with conditions/approval; >160 Wh = not allowed) NOTE that RYANAIR got more lenient rules and do allow the bigger SPS300:

  • SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) – States that it follows the IATA guidelines for lithium batteries, which specify that batteries up to 100 Wh are generally allowed, while 100–160 Wh batteries are only permitted with operator approval and in limited quantities, in cabin baggage only. SAS Flights+1
  • Norwegian – Treats power banks as “spare lithium batteries”: up to 100 Wh allowed in carry-on; 100–160 Wh spare batteries require airline approval, maximum two, cabin only. Devices with 100–160 Wh batteries also require approval. Norwegian
  • KLM – Allows up to 15 devices and 20 spare lithium batteries/power banks up to 100 Wh. Batteries up to 160 Wh require permission; anything above 160 Wh is forbidden. Power banks must be in the cabin and kept under supervision. KLM Flights
  • Air France – For devices or spare lithium batteries >100 Wh and ≤160 Wh, a transport agreement is mandatory and must be requested from Air France or a travel agency in advance; these may not go in checked baggage. Air France
  • Lufthansa – States that devices with batteries greater than 100 Wh and up to a maximum of 160 Wh require airline approval, and power banks are treated as spare batteries that must be carried in hand luggage. Lufthansa
  • British Airways – Allows lithium batteries / power banks up to and including 100 Wh in cabin bags without extra steps. Batteries between 100 Wh and 160 Wh must be detached, their terminals insulated, and carried in the cabin; BA frames this as giving “automatic operator approval” for up to two such spare batteries per person, including power banks. British Airways
  • easyJet – Allows spare lithium batteries and power banks up to 100 Wh in cabin baggage; 100–160 Wh spare batteries are limited to two per passenger and require airline approval, cabin only. easyJet
  • Finnair – Allows spare lithium-ion batteries up to 100 Wh in cabin baggage; lithium-ion batteries over 100 Wh but under 160 Wh (in a device and/or up to two spares) require prior approval from Finnair, and anything above 160 Wh is forbidden. Finnair
  • SWISS – States that lithium-ion batteries and power banks up to 100 Wh are allowed (preferably in hand baggage), while batteries between 100 Wh and 160 Wh are only permitted in cabin baggage with prior airline transport approval, normally limited to two spare units. SWISS
  • Brussels Airlines – Treats power banks as spare batteries: lithium batteries up to 100 Wh are allowed in cabin baggage, and batteries between 100 Wh and 160 Wh are only permitted in the cabin with airline transport approval, with a typical limit of two spares per passenger. Brussels Airlines
  • Turkish Airlines – Allows lithium-ion batteries up to 100 Wh inside devices in cabin and checked baggage, but spare batteries between 100 Wh and 160 Wh (including power banks) are limited to a maximum of two pieces per person, in hand luggage only, and batteries over 160 Wh are not accepted. Turkish Airlines+1
  • TAP Air Portugal – States that spare batteries (including power banks) up to 100 Wh are allowed in hand baggage only, and that devices or spare batteries between 100 Wh and 160 Wh are permitted with airline approval, usually with a maximum of two spares in the cabin and none in checked baggage. TAP Air Portugal
  • Iberia – Confirms that spare batteries and portable chargers or power banks must never be placed in checked baggage and are banned if they exceed 160 Wh, which in practice means that units up to 100 Wh are generally accepted in cabin baggage and those between 100 Wh and 160 Wh follow the usual IATA rules (cabin only, terminals protected, and subject to airline conditions). Iberia+1
  • Vueling – Follows the IATA Table 2.3.A model, allowing spare lithium batteries and power banks up to 100 Wh in cabin baggage, and permitting spare batteries between 100 Wh and 160 Wh only in the cabin, with a maximum of two and with operator approval required. Vueling+1
  • Aer Lingus – Allows power banks only in carry-on luggage and applies the standard IATA framework, where batteries up to 100 Wh are normally accepted without special approval, while those between 100 Wh and 160 Wh are allowed in the cabin in limited numbers and may require advance notification/approval. Aer Lingus+2IATA+2
  • Ryanair – States that lithium-ion devices and spare batteries (including power banks) are not allowed in checked baggage; passengers may bring up to 20 lithium batteries, with either one spare up to 300 Wh or two spares up to 160 Wh in cabin baggage, which effectively means power banks up to 160 Wh are accepted in the cabin as spare batteries with terminals protected against short-circuit. help.ryanair.com+2powerbankexpert.com+2
