The Carbon panels offer the only sustainable solution to use your canvas bimini top as a power generator.
The Carbon Series elevates advanced solar panel technology, adeptly converting your sprayhood and bimini into an effective solar power source. This year, we’ve enhanced the design by upgrading to a carbon sandwich composite for the stiffener, achieving unprecedented stiffness alongside a low weight, required to not weigh down the cloth. Furthermore, the integration of microprocessors enables safe use of serial setups as well as parallel. We’ve named this innovation: Shadow Optimized – IQ.
These panels are crafted to balance rigidity with lightweight construction, ensuring they don’t burden the fabric. The inclusion of soft, transparent edges plays a crucial role, both in safeguarding the material from wear and in facilitating a seamless color transition from any colored top to the panel’s sleek, uniform black surface. This design merges practicality with aesthetic appeal, creating a harmonious visual effect.

SUNBEAMsystem’s Carbon series continues to push development with genuinely innovative engineering. Five dimensions work together to create some of the most powerful, efficient and durable panels on the market:
1. Reinforced External Protection: SUNBEAMsystem’s unique technology offers exceptional UV-resistance and clarity, surpassing other so-called “high-performance” surfaces like ETFE.
2. Premium Sunpower Cells: Higher efficiency (more watts per square meter), broader light absorption, deep black color, and longer lifespan.
3. Rugged Wiring With Durability Core: Proprietary technology with durable, expandable internal cables ensures long-lasting performance.
4. Shock-Absorbing Layer: Sturdy material safeguards cells and cables, improving durability and lifespan.
5. Carbon Fiber Sandwich Core:
Carbon Series is specifically engineered for fabric-based surfaces where high rigidity and low weight are crucial. Due to the inherent lack of support in fabric, ordinary soft panels quickly wear out, rendering them unsuitable for fabric roofs. Thanks to its advanced carbon fiber sandwich core, Tough+Carbon maintains structural integrity and delivers outstanding performance and longevity even under adverse conditions. Its innovative design strikes an optimal balance between robustness and minimal weight, making it ideal for installation on bimini tops, sprayhoods, or other fabric roofs.

Equipped with SUNBEAMsystem’s unique Shadow Optimized technology, specifically engineered to make the panel more effective in shaded conditions. This yields higher energy output and better charging throughout the day. In a traditional panel, even slight partial shading can halt charging entirely, decreasing performance and causing wear that shortens the panel’s lifespan. Shadow Optimized prevents both issues, ensuring reliable charging and extending longevity.
QUICK FIX SYSTEM
The Quick Fix system allows for quick and easy mounting, using stainless steel LOXX buttons and waterproof MC4 connectors.
Tough Carbon can be fitted either with the Quick Fix buttons intended for Canvas or the Carbon Velcro Batten which will attach to the Carbon panel with the existing buttons and then to the canvas by the included Velcro which is sewn onto the underlying canvas.
CARBON VELCRO BATTEN
For use of the Carbon model in heavy wind or on fast-moving vessels, we recommend the Carbon Velcro Batten. These will even out the forces on the underlying canvas using velcro strips.
