With Shadow Optimized – IQ, a microchip inside the panel takes over the job traditional bypass diodes usually do — but with higher robustness and intelligent, automatic shade management in both series and parallel. The result is smoother, more consistent charging when real life gets in the way: booms, rigging, radar arches, sprayhoods, and recurring partial shading.
Why it matters: IQ makes series wiring safer and more foolproof — the microchips handle the optimization for you. And when panels frequently experience partial shade, IQ can reduce long-term wear on the cells, which in practice contributes to longer lifespan and more stable energy on board.
